Recently, Lisa was welcomed back to the Austin hairstyling community after working in Chicago at Studio 110 and Restoration Salon(s), and then in Los Angeles, as a finalist for the Bravo hit reality show, ‘Shear Genius’. Within months of her return she received the honor(s) of winning the ‘Critics Choice Award(s) for “Best Austin Hairstylist” and “Best Austin Colorist” , as well as being in “The Top 3 in Austin” in both the Best Men’s and Best Women’s Haircutting category(s)at the 2009 Austin Fashion Awards.
Lisa Brooks is also the Winner of the Kerastase National Hairstyling Competition, which enabled her to travel to New York for assistance in the production of the Kerastase Look-Book. She has been published in Vanity Fair Magazine, Jane Magazine, The Knot, Chicago Social, Austin Monthly, and Us Magazine, to name just a few. Her fashion forward styling currently and regularly graces the cover and fashion pages of Tribeza Magazine, having been fortunate enough to have worked with the team for 4 years both in print and on the runway.
Her work has also appeared in the feature film ‘The Dark Knight’ as well as on such networks as HGTV, and FOX Sports. Clients have included celebrities such as Dennis Quaid, Andy McDowell, and Renee Zelleweger. Her experience has lent it’s name to productions such as Style Cup Austin, both as a Winner and Executive Producer, and as Key Stylist to the runway events: Tribeza Magazine’s Style Week, and ‘Stitch: A Handmade Revolution’ as the founder and Creative Director of Fashionista and Wearing LisaB.
After being featured in Beauty LaunchPad Magazine for ‘…innovative marketing and branding of a product’ (herself: ‘LisaB’) and ‘Best Beauty Website’, www.WearingLisaB.com, Lisa teamed up with another well-respected and International artist, Beto Diaz; and ‘Diaz & Brooks, A Beauty Apothecary’, was born.
